Olympics
So many things have happened at the Olympics this year- Michael Phelps got 8 gold medals and Usain Bolt got golds in the 100m, 200m, and 400m relay, as China hosted its first Olympics. Watching all of the athletes perform has been awesome this year. They must be really dedicated to their sport to achieve the amazing goals they want. What did you think about the Olympics this year?

As I watched the Olympics, I not only was in awe of the accomplishments of the athletes, but am even more in awe of how hard they train and how hard it is to train at that level. How does one maintain that level of commitment for years, much less weeks?
They maintain the commitment by setting aside other activities to focus on one sport for many years.

Watched most of the swimming and gymnastics...Fully appreciate the dedication and effort involved.
Will there be a Shimizu swimming i the Olympics one day?

I agree that the opening and closing ceremonies were excellent. They left me in awe of the performances that took place during the ceremonies. It truly was a fantastic event.
